Seribu Islands Distributes 32 Qurban Animals to Residential Islands

The Seribu Islands Regency administration distributed qurban (sacrificial) animals consisting of 21 cows and 11 goats or sheep to 11 residential islands.

Hopefully, this can help and bring happiness to the mustahik here

Those qurban animals departed using two traditional boats, from Muara Angke Port, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Friday (6/14).

Seribu Islands Regent, Junaedi said three cows would be distributed to Pramuka Island, one cow to Untung Jawa Island, and two cows each to Panggang Island, Tidung Island, Pari Island, Harapan Island, Kelapa Island, Kelapa Dua Island, Lancang Island, Payung Islands, and Sebira Island.

"Besides cows, there are also four goats or sheep distributed to Untung Jawa Island, two to Tidung Island, one each to Pari Island and Kelapa Island, and three to Kelapa Dua Island," he expressed.

These animals were from various parties including Jakarta Baznas (Bazis), PT Bank DKI, corporate social responsibility (CSR) private companies, community organizations, and Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) in Seribu Islands.

"Thank you to all parties who are willing to care and entrust their qurban animals to the residents of the Seribu Islands. We distribute them according to the provisions of the recipient or those entitled to them," he explained.

He explained, two cows and two goats would also be slaughtered at the Seribu Islands Regency Government Transit Office, Mitra Praja Building, Sunter, North Jakarta

"This qurban meat will be distributed for PJLPs and mustahik (recipients) around the Mitra Praja Office area," he added.

Seribu Islands Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency Head, Nurliati uttered that all qurban animals distributed were ensured to be in healthy condition and following Islamic law.

"Upon arrival at the destination island, a further inspection of the qurban animal will be carried out again," he said.

Besides checking qurban animals at Muara Angke Pier, his party also held inspections at other piers to ensure that qurban animals entering the Seribu Islands met the requirements and were in good condition.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), we have yet to find any animals infected with the disease or underage. During Idul Adha, we'll again carry out inspections and monitor the slaughter of qurban animals on each island," he added.

Untung Jawa Island Urban Village Head, Sidartawan expressed his gratitude for the assistance of sacrificial animals from the Seribu Islands Regency Government and CSR for its residents.

"Today, we received four cows and a goat. Hopefully, this can help and bring happiness to the mustahik here," he closed.
